In the present work, “Shakta Darshanam” by Hayagriwa and “Shakti Sutram” by Agastya are two works describing Shakta philosophy in Sutra style. Both texts follow the same tradition relating to each other. One that is somewhat larger in size is the “Shakta Darshanam” or “Brahma Vidya Prabandha” by Lord Hayagriwa and the other is the “Shakta Sutram” by Rishi Agastya which describes the very brief Shakta philosophy. It is clearly revealed in the Shakta philosophy written by Hayagriva and Shakti Sutra written by his disciple Agastya that the origin of this Shakta theory is Vedic. Both the Shakta Darshanam and Shakti Sutram of the present work are excellent Shakta Tantra texts influenced by the principles of Kashmir order philosophy. They are completely free from the defects that are attributed to many other tantric texts
