During the Early Modern Period, the European Wars of Religion ravaged large swathes of the European population as wars became less about religion and more about politics. Napoleon rose to power in the early 19th century, striking terror into the non-French European nations, who engaged in increasingly complex political alliances throughout the century. Europeans have been involved in many conflicts throughout history, many of them within foreign continents. This book focuses on and explores European wars within the European continent.
